Check important ideas against the transcript, keep the page private and export Markdown to your note-taking app.

Podcast notes, summaries and transcripts: what is the difference?

Turning a podcast into notes adds a reviewable structure to its transcript. Summaries help you skim, takeaways help you review and chapters help you replay. The full transcript keeps the context needed to check them.

Keep excerpts for study, return to source moments for research or prepare notes from your own show. A summary helps you skim; excerpts and the full transcript preserve context. AI summaries can contain errors, and notes from long episodes do not replace a complete listen.

Podcast to notes FAQ

What is the difference between podcast notes and a transcript?

A transcript follows the spoken words in order. Podcast notes add a summary, AI key takeaways and chapters for review. The Markdown download includes both notes and the complete transcript.

Can I turn Spotify or Apple Podcasts into notes?

Public Apple Podcasts episodes with accessible audio are supported. Spotify links need a matching public podcast source, so not every episode can be resolved. Use the direct audio URL if available.

How do I save podcast notes in Notion or Obsidian?

Download Markdown from the result page, then import or paste it into your note-taking app. SonaNote does not currently provide automatic third-party note syncing.

How long can a podcast episode be?

Free accounts can process a single link up to 90 minutes. Its audio must be publicly accessible and fit the download limit. Recording uploads on this page support up to 100 MB and 90 minutes on Free; standalone free tools remain limited to 10 minutes.

Are my podcast notes public?

This page defaults to a private workspace. You can change visibility before submitting; a public page can be read by others. Check important information against the source transcript.
